Europa League Betting Tips 26th July

With this week containing the 2nd round second leg fixtures, we have to be sure that the games we are looking at are not dead rubbers that could end up going either way.

asteras tripolis

You find so often in the early stages of this competition that teams holding a convincing lead after the first leg completely fail to pay the 2nd leg any respect, and quite often, punters pay the price by losing their bets.

With this in mind, my selections this week are based on matches where both teams still have a huge amount to play for, and won't consider fielding an under strength starting line up.

Dila Gori v AGF Aarhus 3.00pm

Georgian outfit Dila Gori shocked AGF by beating them 2-1 last week in Denmark, and it wouldn't surprise me to see the visitors exacting revenge on their opponents this afternoon.

While AGF dictated most of the game, they just couldn't make their dominance of possession count, and were caught by two stinging counter attacks by Dila Gori.

AGF haven't scored many goals recently, but they will have to throw caution to the wind here if they are to reverse their 2-1 loss.  The UEFA rankings have AGF a huge 18 points ahead in the coefficient rankings, and that class difference could well see them through at great odds of 6/4 with StanJames.

Asteras Tripolis v Inter Baku  6.00pm

Another match where UEFA coefficient rankings show just what kind of difference in quality there is between Greek and Azerbaijani football. The Greek's ar ea full 30 points clear of their rivals in the rankings, and going by the statistics of last weeks 1-1 draw in the first leg, Asteras are a great value bet at 4/6 with Bet365.

Baku had just 2 shots on goal compared Asteras 9 last week, and should be outclassed by their superior opponents here.

Incidentally, Asteras are only in this competition due to AEK's European ban, and home supporters will be a huge help here as they get their first taste of European football.
