Caroline Garcia was unable to prevent Serena Williams extending her winning run to 26 matches in the second round of the French Open at Roland Garros.
Two years ago French hope Garcia led Maria Sharapova by a set and 4-1 here before the Russian turned things round and so impressive was the then 17-year-old that Andy Murray tweeted she would be a future world number one.
If the match against the current occupant is anything to go by, then she has some way to go.
It has not quite happened for the teenager so far and her steady but unspectacular progress means she is still ranked outside the top 100.
There is no disgrace, of course, in losing heavily to Williams - since her shock exit in the first round here last year, the American has won 68 of 72 matches and 10 titles.
Williams won the first five games and the focus she is currently displaying was demonstrated by a point in the following game.
Garcia was helped out by the net cord as she stopped the rot and avoided a love set but, instead of smiling like her opponent, Williams scowled.
Garcia put up a decent fight in the second set but it was still entirely comfortable for Williams, who triumphed 6-1 6-2 in an hour and two minutes and next meets 26th seed Sorana Cirstea.
