Chris Hughton is set to continue his summer rebuilding job at Norwich City with the signings of Michael Turner and Robert Snodgrass.
The former Newcastle United manager replaced Paul Lambert in the Carrow Road hot-seat this summer after being lured from Championship side Birmingham City and has already drafted in Jacob Butterfield and Steven Whittaker from Barnsley and Glasgow Rangers respectively.
Hughton has now returned to the North-East to agree a fee with Sunderland for the services of 28-year-old central defender Turner, who made 24 appearances in the Premier League last season but appears to be out of Black Cats' boss Martin O'Neill's plans at the Stadium of Light.
Turner will undergo a medical before wrapping up a move to the East Anglian outfit, while the former Hull City man could be joined by Leeds United captain Snodgrass.
Norwich failed with an initial bid for the Scotland international midfielder last week, but it seems an increased offer was enough to tempt the Whites to let the 24-year-old head off for takes with Hughton over a possible move.
It is the latest sign of intent from Hughton, who is determined to take Norwich onto the next level in their second successive Premier League campaign after Lambert took the club from League One to the top flight in two years and guided them to a 12th-placed finish last term before departing for Aston Villa.
Norwich are 7.00 to finish in the top half of the Premier League in 2012-13, while they are 2.50 to suffer from second-season syndrome and be relegated back into the Championship.
