Joe Hart will be ready to pick up the slack at Manchester City next season should the defence of their Premier League crown start to falter.
The Blues keeper will return from an extended holiday this weekend to fly out with the rest of Roberto Mancini's squad on a pre-season tour of China, with City 2.10 to win the league again next year.
Hart was more than happy to earn the plaudits last season for both club and country but the 25-year-old still believes he can contribute even more.
The England stopper is able to boast he has conceded less goals than any other goalkeeper in the top flight over the last two season, sitting behind the likes of Vincent Kompany and Joleon Lescott, and he is 1.66 to keep a clean sheet against Southampton in the first game of the 2013/2014 campaign.
But Hart still feels he needs to be ready when needed. He insists: "I personally get too lost in the main goal, which is winning games and winning the league.
"I feel great and it's nice that people have confidence in me. I just want to repay that and keep playing well for City.
"We're a great team but when it's not quite happening that's when I need to come in. At the start of last season anyone could have gone in goal for Man City. It didn't require any ability to be in goal."
