Goalkeeper Joe Hart has fired a warning to Southampton ahead of Manchester City's trip to the South Coast next weekend.
The Blues and England keeper admits the nine-point gap to rivals Manchester United at the top of the Premier League table is becoming "too big for our liking".
Roberto Mancini's side fell further behind in the title race after they could only manage a 2-2 draw against Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
But Hart remains convinced City can still come roaring back in the remaining 13 games and has already sounded an ominous warning to the struggling Saints.
Hart insists: "We have to win at Southampton. We can't hide the facts. We are nine points behind with 13 games to go, so we need the win there.
"We need to do what we have done in the last seven games before the Liverpool game, when we won six and drew one.
"But it is not enough with draws, we need to start winning. We will always be in it. We know we have to move forward and that means we have to beat Southampton."
The Citizens are x/x to win at St Mary's on Saturday and x/x to triumph by a 2-1 scoreline, while they are x/x to keep a clean sheet.
