Matija Nastasic is poised to return for Manchester City's home clash with Liverpool this Sunday.
The highly-rated teenage Serbian defender has missed the last two games with inflamed knee ligaments.
But the injury to the 19-year-old has settled down during this week and boss Roberto Mancini is ready throw him back into the firing line against the Reds. City are 9.50 to win the clash 2-0, with a goalless draw available at 13.00.
We pride ourselves on clean sheets and it was nice to get another one against QPR. Joleon Lescott
Nastasic's return will come as good news for City, who are still without defensive skipper Vincent Kompany (calf).
And with Kolo Toure still away at the African Cup of Nations, Mancini was forced to deploy midfielder Javi Garcia alongside Joleon Lescott for Tuesday night's 0-0 draw at Queens Park Rangers.
Lescott insists there can be few complaints at how the City defence has performed this season, having not conceded a goal in any competition since the end of December, and they are 2.75 to keep a clean sheet against Liverpool.
City have conceded just 19 goals in the Premier League this season - the best in English football - although they will need to find their scoring touch against Brendan Rodgers' team.
Lescott insists: "We are pleased with our performances defensively. We pride ourselves on clean sheets and it was nice to get another one against QPR.
"We created a lot of chances going forward the other night but we just couldn't get that goal to clear the final hurdle.
"Pablo Zabaleta has been quality this season and I thought Javi Garcia was immense against Rangers. We now have to take the positives from that game and take them into the weekend."
