Redknapp lands 'monster' Samba
QPR manager Harry Redknapp believes the capture of the former Blackburn Rovers defender Christopher Samba is an unbelievable signing by the club.
The 28-year-old moves to Loftus Road for £12.5million from the Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala and has penned a four-and-a-half-year deal with Redknapp's relegation-threatened team.
QPR are 3.00 to finish bottom of the Premier League table and are 1.61 to be relegated.
"This is an unbelievable signing," said Redknapp. "Chris is just what we need. He's a monster.
"He's great in the air, quick, a leader, strong, fantastic in both boxes, hard as nails. He's a proper centre-half."
Redknapp was keen to bring in a new defender after Ryan Nelsen played his last game for the club in Tuesday's goalless draw with Manchester City. Nelsen will take up the managerial position at Toronto FC while fellow defender Anton Ferdinand has been allowed to move to Turkish club Bursaspor on loan.
