Proud Parkinson in dreamland
Paul Lambert's side can now concentrate on trying to avoid relegation.
Bradford City boss Phil Parkinson admitted he was in "dreamland" after his League Two side booked their place in the Capital One Cup final by beating Aston Villa 4-3 on aggregate.
The Bantams, tenth in the fourth tier of English football and 5.00 to win promotion to League One this season, stunned a Villa side that is now 2.00 to be relegated from the Premier League, to set up a Wembley final against either Swansea City or Chelsea.
City had won the first leg 3-1 a fortnight ago but it looked ominous for them when a rampant home side took the lead in the 24th minute thanks to Christian Benteke's strike.
However, Bradford held out until half time and improved after the break, equalising in the 55th minute when James Hanson headed home.
The goal appeared to knock Paul Lambert's side out of their stride and, despite Andreas Weimann's 89th-minute effort, Bradford held on to book their trip to Wembley next month.
Afterwards a stunned Parkinson said: "Coming here two goals up, we had a great chance. In the first half Villa were excellent but in the second I thought we were excellent and deserved it.
"We felt in the first half we didn't pass the ball and in the second we got hold of the ball and had a period of possession. We knew Villa are an attacking team that would leave space for us.
"It's dreamland. We said we had a chance to make history and it's absolutely tremendous."
Bradford are 6.00 to win the Capital One Cup while Swansea can be backed at 1.61 and Chelsea at 3.50.
