Martinez looks for home comforts

martinezWigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez is set to administer some travel sickness pills to his players - to ensure a better home record.

The Latics boss is at a loss to understand why his team have struggled to perform at the DW Stadium this season. That is in stark contrast to their away form, where results and points have been a little easier to find.
Our away performances and results have been good enough.Roberto Martinez
Wigan host Sunderland today and have won just twice on home soil this term, a major factor why they are still deep in the relegation mire.
Wigan are out of the drop-zone only on goal difference and Martinez now wants to see less anxiety from his players in front of their own supporters. They are 2.87 to be relegated this season and 2.15 to beat Sunderland.
The Spaniard admits: "Our away performances and results have been good enough. If you look at our last three performances, including our FA Cup win, it is not easy to be consistent away from home.
"That is something we now need to take into the home form. There are only eight games left at the DW Stadium - a special environment for our players to enjoy playing their football.
"We need to get as many points as we can. We do need to get the points our performances deserve. There is no margin for error and we are excited about that."
