Chris Smalling has told Manchester United to stop handing out early Christmas presents to their opponents.
The Reds defender has spoken of the frustration inside the Old Trafford camp at a lack of clean sheets this season, having conceded 24 goals so far.
Sunderland were the latest team to breach the United backline over the weekend, despite Sir Alex Ferguson's side running out comfortable 3-1 winners.
Smalling feels the return of Serbian defender Nemanja Vidic, who returned to the defence for 22 minutes as a substitute against the Black Cats, can also have a galvanising affect.
Smalling said: "There was a bit of carelessness against Sunderland. We were disappointed with their goals because we wanted to keep a clean sheet.
"As a defender, it is frustrating not to keep a clean sheet. Our record this season with them has not been great. It would have been nice to get one going into the Christmas period.
"The return of Nemanja will keep everyone on their toes and fighting for the shirt. We have been stretched in the defensive department and it's important to have players like him back for the busy Christmas and New Year period."
United kick-off a busy festive programme when they travel to south Wales on Sunday to take on Swansea City and can be backed at 1.61 to pick up all three points.
Swansea are 5.50 to secure a shock win and the draw is priced at 4.00.
