Toronto v Liverpool: Betting Tips and Preview

Liverpool kick off their pre season friendly campaign against Toronto in Canada on Saturday night, and it's hard to see anything but a comfortable victory for The Reds.

New boss Brendan Rodgers will be eager to start off on a winning note, and in all honesty, they should really do the business against a very poor Toronto side who currently sit bottom of the MLS Eastern Conference with just 19 points after 20 games played.

This is undoubtedly their easiest game on their three date tour of North America which see's them face Roma next Thursday, before a clash with Tottenham Hotspur in Maryland next Saturday.

Brendan Rodgers hasn't taken all of his senior players on the tour, owing to Euro 2012 exertions and Olympics football call ups, but the squad he has picked contains a nice mix of youth and experience, which includes new signing Fabio Borini.

Betting wise, Liverpool, although short enough at 2/5, still look good value to take an easy victory against a very weak MLS side that perennially finish towards the bottom of their domestic league.

The Toronto boss has also stated that he plans to use some of his young and inexperienced players for this friendly match, and this only strengthens my opinion that Liverpool will saunter past Toronto, and give Brendan Rodgers the win he craves on his debut.

The three friendlies Liverpool face in North America are far more than a mere blow out for the players. Shortly after their return to England they are to face Renova or Gomel in the first round of the Europa League, a competition that Rodgers is certain to take seriously in his quest for silverware.

For punters looking for bigger odds and a bit of value, the Evens available about Liverpool winning at HT/FT looks a very good bet. Steven Gerrard and co. will be putting Toronto under pressure from the outset, and there should be some early action in this game.
