Carlo Ancelotti has insisted Paris Saint-Germain are on the right path to challenge for the Champions League.
The Ligue 1 big-spenders travel to take on Valencia next Tuesday in the first leg of the round of 16 of Europe's premier club competition. Before that they will look to consolidate pole position in France with a home fixture against Bastia on Friday.
Ancelotti has overseen a huge outlay of cash on the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva, after being pipped to the title by Montpellier last season.
The 53-year-old revealed recently he thought winning the domestic title "would be easier" than it has proved, but is convinced PSG are heading in the right direction to become a major force.
"Paris Saint-Germain will be a team like Manchester United, like a top team, in Europe," the former AC Milan and Chelsea boss said.
"I don't know how long it will be, but it will be for sure. We want to do it as soon as possible but it's not so easy to build a team buying players. You buy them but then you have to put them together and that job takes time."
PSG can be backed at 1.53 to qualify against Valencia and 21.00 to win the Champions League.
