St Hilaire to stay with Bulls
Tuesday 20th July 10
Bradford Bulls have confirmed that caretaker coach Lee St Hilaire will stay on at the club to work under new head coach Mick Potter in 2011.
The former Huddersfield Giants winger, who has been put in charge of the Bulls to the end of the season following the decision to release Steve McNamara, was out of contract in November but has now been given a new 12-month deal.
Bradford have also given a new one-year contract to head of physical performance Geoff Evans.
“Continuity was a factor but so was the calibre of both individuals and Mick Potter was more than happy to keep them on board,” said chairman Peter Hood.
“One-year deals are appropriate in this situation because, with a new coach coming in, it gives everyone a chance to see how they work together.”
St Hilaire, who joined the club in 2006 after cutting his coaching teeth at Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and Huddersfield, said: “I’m very happy to stay at Bradford and even happier that mick has okayed our deals.”
St Hilaire’s first match in charge resulted in a 30-26 home defeat by Salford City Reds on Sunday and he will be hoping to halt their nine-match losing run at Hull KR on Saturday.
